First impressions: Not bad

Taking the taxi to go to Varaderos : a photo of the
front of the airport!!

Here at the International Airport
of La Habana "José Martí"
I've been reading about Cuba and I found very interesting data like the regime employed by the ex-president Fidel Castro who Is based on the communism. But I didn't manage to found too much information and I decided that i will discover Cuba by my own , I wouldn't continue searching information , i will only enjoy Cuba. When I have arrived to the "José Martí" airport at La Habana , the capital of Cuba : everything was different , the internet have lied to me again , the information I found about Cuba were all wrong. When I step on the Cuban shore , my mind have completly changed . The cars are looking like cars of the sixties , the buildings are so old , and people look like poor people but they are happy. I haven't already talk to anyone but I'm so curious , i want to talk with Cubans and learn more about this wonderful country. I have taken a lot of photos who I will put on the blog later. I feel happy of doing this gap year , I like it very much because this is a wonderful country and in addition I will help kids of the third sector helping them in terms of education teaching  them about general culture. I'm glad of being here , in this wonderful country and I really like my gap year , I'm so lucky and I know it. Not everything in the gap year is enjoying , we also have to work! I will explain on what my gap year consists: It consist on going to differents states of Cuba who are very poor and I say this like this because de majority of the cities of Cuba are poor enclosing his own capital : La Habana . I have to help little kids who are used to work in grounds and thinks like that instead of study. So I will teach kids about Culture in general , history , geography , the things that I know about his country and a lot more.I will be going to different cities like la Habana , a tourist city called Varadero and to a city called Matanzas"the city of bridges".I will start by going to Varadero , then Matanzas and finally La Habana . I'm so sorry that i couldn't tell you about La Habana and about Cuba because I don't know anyting yet , but I promise later I will do it .

The trip begins: Matanza , Varaderos and La Habana.

The "plaza de la revolucion"
The beach of Varaderos.
The bridge of Matanzas (100 m)
The "bodeguita del medio" at La Habana
When I arrived an old man with my name on a paper was waiting for me : the paper says "Felipe Renom". So I get closer to him and I told him that I'm his guy. So we went to his car , an old car of the sixties and he started by communicating me that we will go to Varaderos, Matanzas and La Habana finally and then he will deliver me on Varaderos to start my gap year. We had 3 hours to arrive to the city. So I take advantage of this time to talk to him about his country . And I get very informed about Cuba : he told me everything . In Cuba , the internet is very expensive , the phones didn't exist , almost . It's like they live one century before us. The system pays them a very little amount of money (10 dolars) and they are , the majority , professionals , my taxi driver was a chemical engineer and he didn't work as a chemical engineer . People in this country are poor but happy , It's so weard. The president is Raul Castro and he is attempting to change a little bit the country but is so difficult . Fidel Castro , his brother , has 64 murder attempts and he is unlocalizated. In Cuba there isn't private companies , every company who open , compulsorily the 51% of the company belongs to the state. I think there is something corrupt there but I dont want to investigate because I don't want to be killed !I will put some photos of my excursion and then I will put a map who will shows you the location of the cities and what I have seen in each of them.

The happiness have a limit: My last days !

I've passed  wonderful moments during my gap year , I developped skills of teaching that I don't even knew that I had them. The kids are spectacular , they attitude is brillant . Everything passed too fast . The group of people who accompany me on this process are excellent people with good feelings , everything in this country is good. I coul learn things about Cuba thanks of the taxi driver of the excursion. But also teachers on the school who I worked told me some tips about Cuba and the world  who I will never forget : Cubans can't leave the country because de state don't let them go. You can go paying an amount of 10,000 dollars , when they win 10 dollars , is very difficult. I wasn't the only teacher in the classroom , children also teach me about his country , for example a man who have died crossi the caribbean to go to miami , he was ate by de sharks. I livd unforgettable moments here , I taste traditional dishes like lobster , casseroles with a lot of beans for example. Also I could listen to the traditional music of Cuba who Is the "bachata" the actual popular singer recognised by this style of making musica is Romeo Santos or Marc Anthony. But also we have Cubans artist who left the country and went to Miami like Pitbull or Celia Cruz (I will put videos of one of their songs above).
